چکیده

We study the Koplienko Spectral Shift Function (KoSSF), which is distinct from the one of Krein (KrSSF). KoSSF is defined for pairs A, B with (A − B) ∈ I2, the Hilbert–Schmidt operators, while KrSSF is defined for pairs A, B with (A−B) ∈ I1, the trace class operators. We review various aspects of the construction of both KoSSF and KrSSF. Among our new results are: (i) that any positive Riemann integrable function of compact support occurs as a KoSSF; (ii) that there exist A, B with (A−B) ∈ I2 so det2((A − z)(B − z)) does not have nontangential boundary values; (iii) an alternative definition of KoSSF in the unitary case; and (iv) a new proof of the invariance of the a.c. spectrum under I1-perturbations that uses the KrSSF.

Abstract. We construct higher order spectral shift functions, which represent the remainders of Taylor-type approximations for the value of a function at a perturbed self-adjoint operator by derivatives of the function at an initial unbounded operator. In the particular cases of the zero and the first order approximations, the corresponding spectral shift functions have been constructed by M. G...

An Extension of the Koplienko–neidhardt Trace Formulae

The spectral shift function for a trace class perturbation of a self-adjoint (unitary) operator plays a very important role in perturbation theory. It was introduced in a special case by I.M. Lifshitz [L] and in the general case by M.G. Krein [Kr1]. He showed that for a pair of self-adjoint (not necessarily bounded) operators A and B satisfying B −A ∈ S1 there exists a unique function ξ ∈ L 1(R...

Some Results on Convex Spectral Functions: I

In this paper, we give a fundamental convexity preserving for spectral functions. Indeed, we investigate infimal convolution, Moreau envelope and proximal average for convex spectral functions, and show that this properties are inherited from the properties of its corresponding convex function. This results have many applications in Applied Mathematics such as semi-definite programmings and eng...

Electronic Spectral Line Shape of a Diatomic Molecule

The electronic absorption spectral line shape of a diatomic molecule with harmonic potential curves is calculated using the time correlation function formalism. Both the equilibrium shift and the frequency shift of the two linking electronic states ate taken into account. The spectrum is also calculated using the cumulated expansion which is related to the correlation function of the time-d...

Large Amplitude Vibration Analysis of Graphene Sheets as Resonant Mass Sensors Using Mixed Pseudo-Spectral and Integral Quadrature Methods

The present paper investigates the potential application of graphene sheets with attached nanoparticles as resonant sensors by introducing a nonlocal shear deformation plate model. To take into account an elastic connection between the nanoplate and the attached nanoparticle, the nanoparticle is considered as a mass-spring system. Then, a combination of pseudo-spectral and integral quadrature m...
